Emily’s Journey
Hi, I’m Emily. This page shares how I found ballet, what I’m working toward, and why support matters for dancers who are willing to do the work.

Before Ballet
Before I ever stepped into a ballet class, I was working toward becoming a black belt in Taekwondo and I did it. I loved the discipline, the repetition, and the feeling of improving a little bit every day. Earning my black belt taught me how to set a goal and work for it, even when it was hard and it’s the same mindset I bring to ballet now.
The Moment That Changed Everything
In the winter of 2022, I saw Ballet Tucson perform The Nutcracker. Something clicked for me. I remember thinking, “That’s what I want to do.” From that point on, ballet became more than an interest it became my focus.
What I’m Working Toward

I’ve worked extraordinarily hard to grow as a dancer. I spend hours practicing technique, strength, flexibility, and artistry. I’m working toward advanced training opportunities, auditions, and intensives because my dream is to become a professional ballerina (and one day a Principal Dancer at a world-renowned ballet company).
Practice isn’t what I do sometimes. It’s how I build my future one day at a time.

Why Support Matters
Ballet is beautiful but it can also be expensive. Tuition, coaching, auditions, travel, and required gear add up quickly. Like many families, we have to make careful choices and work within a budget.
It can be heartbreaking to think that someone can be completely dedicated, willing to do the work, show up, and sacrifice, yet still have their dream limited by finances. That’s why this website exists: to share my journey honestly and to help keep opportunities within reach.
- Training and required classes
- Audition and application fees
- Travel and lodging for auditions and intensives
- Pointe shoes and required dancewear
- Summer intensives and workshops

Looking Ahead
Right now, this page is about supporting my journey. In the long run, our bigger dream is to turn this mission into a nonprofit that helps other dancers like me because financial limits shouldn’t be the reason someone can’t pursue their talent and dedication.
If you believe in that vision too, thank you for being here. Every share, every kind word, and every bit of support matters.
